Today I participated to the first Webinar on Design Pattern from Javaspecialists (please note that while the Javaspecialists newsletters are free you'll need to pay a subscription to participate in the Javaspecialists forum. I think that this is what makes it so exclusive and high-value. For example, the people who subscribed to the forum are entitled to follow the webinar for free).
Today it was the first session. Heinz mainly introduced the course and how it's going to be structured and talked about the main elements which define a Pattern. The Design Patterns course describes and teaches the GoF Patterns and, provided the exercise are done and delivered to Heinz (who will mark them), and that all sessions are attended (either directly or through recordings) it ends with a regular Javaspecialists certification of successful completion of the Design Patterns course.
During the next session Heinz will explain the Proxy pattern, trying to squeeze everything in one hour.
This webinar technology is amasing: it's actually possible to participate from home or from the office and the Webinar technology allows a great deal of interaction, with the audience asking questions and Heinz answering them. Also at times Heinz would start a quick poll to keep the audience alert!
Great job Heinz. Thank you for creating the Javaspecialists community!
